WB Country Director calls on Finance Advisor, wows to continue support Pakistan’s reforms agenda

ISLAMABAD, Feb 09 (TNS): World Bank Country Director Patchamuthu Illangovan called on Advisor on Finance Miftah Ismail in Islamabad on Friday.

They exchanged views regarding progress on different ongoing World Bank financed projects besides having discussion on future development programmes.

The Country Director reiterated World Bank’s resolve to keep supporting Pakistan’s reforms agenda, which has greatly helped the country achieve macro-economic stability during the past four and a half years.

He also shared with the Adviser details about agreements worth 305 million dollars recently signed with the World Bank to support projects in agriculture sector in Punjab and to improve the nutrition status of children and women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Miftah Ismail appreciated World Bank for extending its continuous support to Pakistan in its efforts to achieve sustainable economic development in the country.
