Eve’s daughter on the death bed in the Labor Room of General Hospital, Lahore; Husband threatens self-immolation if CM Punjab doesn’t take action against Lahore General Hospital’s administration

Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab, likes to project his image as a leader of the masses. He calls himself Khadim-e-Punjab (servant of Punjab) so the people think, unlike other politicians, he sought power to serve the people rather than to look out for himself; but, God forbid, the following story reflects just the opposite

LAHORE Feb 10 (TNS): The poor state of Punjab Province’s healthcare system and its claim of easy access to medical treatment were exposed today by a man named Abdul Shakoor in front of the Labor Room of Lahore General Hospital.

In the presence of the Honorable Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar during the hearing of the healthcare-related suo motu cases at the SC bench Lahore today a man named Abdul Shakoor announced self-immolation in front of the Labor Room of Lahore General Hospital.

He told TNS that his wife Saadia was under treatment in the hospital. A doctor told him a week ago that Saadia’s child has already died in the mother’s womb; therefore an urgent operation is needed. But even after the passage of seven days the operation has not taken place so far.

He said his wife has been on the death bed for the last seven days and if anything happens to his wife the hospital authorities and the Punjab Government will be held responsible.

Announcing his decision of self-immolation by 5pm today if any action was not taken by the Chief Minister of Punjab against the involved administration of the hospital, the husband of Saadia, Abdul Shakoor termed the claim of introducing health facilities in the Punjab province as a sham.
