Terrorism eliminated from Pakistan, attacks being carried out from Afghanistan: COAS

RAWALPINDI, Feb 18 (TNS): Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that Pakistan has rendered unprecedented sacrifices in war against terrorism.

Addressing Munich Security Conference (MSC) in Germany on Saturday, he said that attacks are being carried out from Afghanistan on Pakistan.

He said we have defeated Al Qaeda, Jamaat-u- Ahrar and Tehreek-e-Taliban.

The army chief said that Pakistan was among the progressing countries.

“Pakistan has rendered unprecedented sacrifices in war against terrorism,” he reminded.Addressing Munich Security Conference in Germany on Saturday, he said that attacks are being carried out from Afghanistan on Pakistan.

He said we have defeated Al Qaeda, Jamaat-u- Ahrar and Tehreek-e-Taliban.

The army chief said that Pakistan was among the progressing countries.  The army chief said terrorism has been eliminated from Pakistan. He said there are no terrorist hideouts in Pakistan.

He said Pakistan has been hosting three million Afghan refugees and now, time has come to repatriate the Afghan refugees to their own country.

He emphasized on international cooperation for elimination of the menace of terrorism. He said world has made no extra steps to eradicate terrorism.The Army Chief said there are reports of shifting of Daesh to Afghanistan. He said Pakistan and Afghanistan have reiterated their resolve not to allow use of soil against each other.

“The border management with Afghanistan has been improved, however there were safe havens of terrorists in Afghanistan,” he said.

He said National Action Plan is being implemented in letter and spirit and bio-metric system has installed at border crossing with Afghanistan.
