NAB takes Mubashir Luqman to PEMRA

Islamabad June 29 (TNS): The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has lodged a formal complaint with the PEMRA against Channel 24 host Mubashir Luqman for airing ‘baseless’ and ‘concocted story’ against the NAB Chairman Chaudhry Qamar Zaman and the anti-graft body as an intuition.

 

 

“Channel 24 News HD in its programme Khara Such aired on Wednesday, 28th June from 10pm to 10:53pm hosted by Mubashir Luqman, which was absolutely false, baseless and concocted content casting aspersions on the person of Chairman NAB and the NAB as an Institution,” the NAB complain said.

It said that Channel 24 News HD by airing such false and defamatory programme against Chairman NAB and NAB as an institution has deliberately made an attempt to tarnish the respect and image of the Chairman NAB and the NAB as an institution in the eyes of Public at large, It said seeking action against the host and the channel for not taking version of the NAB and violating the Pemra’s electronic media code of conduct 2015.
