London, Feb. 26 (TNS): A powerful explosion rocked UK city of Leicester, officials said.
British police declared the blast “a major incident”.
British media said at least six fire fighting vehicles were busy to control the fire at scene.
Meida said Leicestershire Fire and rescue received reports from the public of a large blast at around 7pm.
“It is unknown if people are injured or trapped,” officials said
Officials further said that two buildings damaged in the incident.
British media said wreckage was blasted across both traffic lanes of the road after the explosion, which destroyed a house and a closely store.
