Karachi, Feb. 26 (TNS): In a major development, the Federal Investigation Agency apprehended Axact chief Shoaib Sheikh.
The Sindh High Court accepted watchdog’s plea against earlier acquittal of Shoaib Sheikh, architect of mega fake-degree scam, in a money laundering case.
Suspending verdict of district and sessions court, Sindh High Court decided that now the trial court would hear the case.
Earlier, the district and sessions court had cleared Axact chief in the mega scam back in 2016.
Following the announcement of verdict, FIA officials apprehended Shoaib Sheikh.
Shoaib Shiekh holed up inside the court’s building for several hours to avoid detention.
Meanwhile, Sheikh also pleads for interim bail assuring the court that he was ready to face trial in the lower courts; however, the court rejected his bail appeal and FIA team eventually taken him into custody.
