Islamabad, March 2 (TNS): Influential personalities swept the matter of banned chemical case against Senator Talha Mehmood under the carpet.
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) a day earlier claimed to have seized huge cache of sulfuric acid, a banned chemical used in narcotics, in Skardu trafficked from Senator Talha Mehmood’s Mansehra factory.
The Anti-Narcotics Force sent samples of seized chemical to Islamabad laboratory for examination.
A member of ANF team, which participated in the raid, told TNS that 30 thousand liters of sulfuric acid was recovered from the vehicle transported from Senator Talha Mehmood’s batteries manufacturing factory in Mansehra.
He said the seized drums of banned chemical still in custody of ANF.
It is said that sulfuric acid is used in the manufacturing of heroin and other drugs.
On Friday, TNS was team reached residence of Senator Talha Mahmood located at F-7/1 sector of Islamabad to know his point of view over the issue; however, JUI-F leader was not present at his house.
Senator’s Media Advisor told TNS that ANF Inspector Sohail Umar Gondal, who made the controversial raid, has been suspended.
Meanwhile, Senator Talha Mehmood spokesperson released a press release stating that ANF’s raid was false propaganda and the force has suspended the official who conducted the raid and spread false propaganda against Senator Talha Mehmood who is chairman of Volta Batteries company.
It further stated that the NAF has tendered an apology to Senator Talha Mehmood for false allegation levelled by some elements in the force.
