Sibtain Kazmi acquitted in Azam Tariq murder case

Islamabad, March 5 (TNS): An Anti-Terrorist Court on Monday acquitted Sibtain Kazmi in the murder case of Azam Tariq who was gunned down on Kashmir Highway in Islamabad in October 2004 while he was returning home after attending a session in the Senate.

The Golra police had registered a case and Kazmi was arrested as a suspect in the murder.

The court acquitted Kazmi after the trial court the prosecution evidence against him deficient.

Talking   to the media outside the court, Kazma said that that a fake case was registered against him on the sectarian line and he had nothing to do with the murder.

He said that the court should also punish those who level baseless allegations and implicate innocent in politically and religiously-motivated cases
