Karachi, March 6 (TNS): The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday directed Sindh Chief Secretary Rashid Memon to submit a personal affidavit that the 477 officials, who had been reinstated in various departments after they entered into a plea bargain in corruption cases with the National Accountability Bureau, have not been given any charges.

The court issued the orders while hearing the case against the corrupt officials who have entered into the plea bargain with the NAB after the anti-graft body launched an-anti corruption drive across the province.

Earlier, the SHC had directed the chief secretary to submit a report about the action taken against the officials who were reinstated after they voluntarily returned the looted sum to the NAB.

The Sindh chief secretary told the court that he has already submitted the report containing statements of secretaries of all departments.

SHC Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Shaikh directed the chief secretary to submit his personal affidavit affirming that no corrupt officials will be given charges as the head of any department in the province.
