Islamabad March 7 (TNS): The trial court hearing Flagship and Al-Azizia references against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday allowed him to leave the courtroom after his counsel Khawaja Haris pleaded the court to exempt his client due to ill health.
As trial court judge Mohammad Bashir resumed hearing the corruption references, Haris said that his client should be exempted from today’s hearing as he was not feeling well. The judge allowed the former premier to leave the courtroom.
Later talking to the media, Sharif said that his party never indulged in horse-trading and never approve of selling and buying of votes. He said that his party was ready to talk to other parties to root out the curse of horse-trading.
The anti-graft body has filed three references against the Sharifs after the Supreme Court issued an order in the Panama Papers case last year.
