Punjab govt takes revolutionary step to improve health sector
Lahore, March 4 (TNS): Government of the Punjab has taken the initiative to launch Health Sector Reforms Program.
This initiative of the Punjab Government is in line with the overall poverty reduction strategy of Government and international commitments of the country especially with reference to achieving the Millennium Development Goals.
Following steps taken by Punjab government are revolution in the health sector:
PKLI&RC : South Asia’s biggest one of its kind facility
Rawalpindi Institute of Urology and Kidney Diseases is being established
Multan Institute of Kidney Diseases
Children Hospital Multan extension block
3 state of the art burn units made functional in Multan, Lahore and Faisalabad
Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital, Muzaffargarh
Children Hospital Lahore extension; 614 beds added. Total capacity now 1100+ beds making it Asia’s largest children hospital
DG Khan Teaching Hospital extension
385 bedded new Mayo Hospital Surgical Tower
Services Hospital Lahore new OPD/inpatients tower
100 beds added to Pakistan Institute of Neuro Sciences (500 beds)
Children Complex Faisalabad
Free medicines worth 6 billion for diabetes, breast cancer, heart and respiratory diseases patients
Free medicines worth 44 billion rupees for cancer patients
Regional Blood Centres
Pathology Labs
Drug Testing Laboratories
Cold Chain Stores and Medicine Warehouses
Motorbike Ambulance Service
