Islamabad, 7 (TNS): A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed in Islamabad’s slum area, police said on Wednesday, TNS reported.
Police told TNS that the horrific incident took place in jurisdiction of Golra Police Station.
The incident came to light when passersby noticed the girl inside a hut at deserted slum on Wednesday, the police said.
Police rushed to the crime scene at slum established in F-12 sector of Islamabad.
The official told TNS that police team shifted the dead body of the deceased girl to PIMS for autopsy and other medical formalities.
The victim was identified as Nasreen, 12, daughter of Muhammad Adil.
Official told TNS that the girl was apparently raped and suffocated to death, however, police kicked off its investigation into the matter and waiting for autopsy report for confirmation.
