Bannu March 8 (TNS): The police on Thursday foiled a bid to blast a school building in Bannu and defused a bomb.
Police said that on a tip-off about a suspected material at the gate of a government primary school in Bannu, the bomb disposal squad reached the spot and found a bomb attached with a bottle filled with petrol. The bomb was defused by the bomb disposal squad personnel before it went off.
Police said that the saboteurs wanted to blow up the school building. The police have launched a search operation after the bomb was defused.
