Islamabad March 8 (TNS): The federal government on Thursday issued a notification, extending the term of trial court judge Mohammad Bashir hearing cases against the Sharif family and former finanace minister Ishaq Dar.
Earlier, the law secretary assured the Supreme Court that the term of the trial court judge would be extended before the expiry of the current period expiring on March 13.
The Islamabad High Court had sent a summary to the law ministry seeking a third extension in the term of judge Bashir. The Supreme Court had also taken a suo moto of the issued and had sought explanation from the law secretary. The apex court had directed the law secretary to update the court on March 10.
