Lahore March 10 (TNS): The Supreme Court Lahore registry on Saturday allowed the Election Commission of Pakistan to take the oath from senators-elect, whose winning notifications were withheld over an issue related to dual nationality.

While hearing the suo motu case regarding the dual nationality of the lawmakers, the Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib allowed senators-elect Chaudhry Sarwar, Haroon Akhtar, Nuzhat Sadiq and Sadia Abbasi to take the oath as senators on March 12 when the newly elected lawmakers would be sworn-in the oath of the office.

Previously, the apex court  had stopped the poll body from dispensing notifications regarding the election victory of the four senators who might have possessed the dual nationality.
