LAHORE March 10 (TNS): The Supreme Court on Saturday ordered provincial authorities to submit PC-1 of all clean water projects underway in Lahore till March 23.

Hearing a suo moto case at Supreme Court registry, Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar said that the local administration was busy in spending billion of rupees on the orange line train project at the cost of other press issues including clean drinking water.

The top judge said that the residents of Lahore were being provided poisonous and contaminated water.

Earlier, CJP had asked the provincial government what steps it has taken to improve health and education sectors.

He also directed to inform the court about quality of drinking water in hospitals, colleges and schools as private institutions are taking hefty fee.
