Islamabad March 13 (TNS): Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who was elected as the new president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on Tuesday by the central general council of the party, has said that though a huge responsibility has been placed on his shoulders, he could not think of replacing the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who held the portfolio prior to his disqualification by the Supreme Court.

Addressing a gathering of the party at Convention Centre Islamabad, Shahbaz said that the senior Sharif was the political heir of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He said that the party was lucky to have such a visionary leader, who has been the target of the powers that be. He said that the injustice that had been meted out to his leader will be corrected and remedied with the help of the masses.
