Islamabad/Dubai ,March 13 (TNS) : Peshawar Zalmi face threat of elimination after they were thwarted by Islamabad United by 26 runs on Friday. Whereas, Multan face Islamabad in their last league encounter at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
The scenario has become dramatic as Multan and Zalmi both face elimination scares. If Multan Sultans overcome Islamabad United in their last league game tonight,they will once and for all eliminate Peshawar in the process.
On the other hand if Islamabad beat Sultans, Peshawar will stay in with a bid to Qualify. Albeit they will have to win both of their remaining group matches against Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars.
Multan Sultans hover at 4th place in the table (with 9 points) just above the elimination zone, Three points ahead of Peshawar Zalmi who have managed to gain 6 points so far and are rooted at 5th place.
The Mouthwatering clash tonight will decide the fate of Peshawar Zalmi.Victory for Multan will mean they will participate in the playoffs on 18th March at Dubai.
Multan Pacer Junaid Khan stated: “ The game against Islamabad is a Do or Die for us. All the players are working on their strengths and will try their level best to put up a good show and showcase their talents”
Islamabad United Pacer however remains optimistic that his side will not lose focus and carry out their winning run “ We want to top the pool and gain direct entry into the playoffs.Under Captain Misbah Ul Haq we enjoy freedom to showcase our talents and we have confidence that we will win our remaining three fixtures”.
