Islamabad, March 13 (TNS): Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan visited Mushaf Airbase Sargodha to review operations of the base as well as to be briefed on the newly-established Airpower Centre of Excellence (ACE), says a PAF statement here on Tuesday.
The minister witnessed a training exercise on board AWACS aircraft where he was briefed by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, according to a press release issued by media affairs directorate of PAF.
At the base, the Defence Minister witnessed the takeoff for a training exercise and inspected a JF-17 aircraft.
He addressed the ground crew and technicians of the JF-17 flight line and appreciated the ground crew for their dedication and hard work, particularly during operation Zarb-e-Azb, in which PakistanAir Force played a vital role.
Commandant of ACE escorted the minister through the facility and briefed him about the different courses and exercises. The Air Chief informed the minister that ACE was built in a record time of 15 months in 2016-17 and was now a world class facility for conducting multinational exercises as well as training PAF personnel at every level.
The minister commended the Air Chief for his vision of ACE and appreciated the Officers and staff for integrating information technology thoroughly in ACE operations. He offered the government’s full support for its future development.
