Lahore, March 14 (TNS): At least six persons were martyred and 20 others including cops sustained injuries on Wednesday night in a powerful explosion at Raiwind, a suburb area of Lahore, official says.
Four policemen including ASP among six killed in the blast.
According to DIG operation Haider Ashraf, suicide blast occurred near Tableeghi markaz (preaching Center) at Raiwind.
Official said suicide bomber on motorbike blew himself up at police checking post near Tableeghi markaz in Raiwind.
DIG Haider Ashraf said that 20 people including 9 policemen wounded in blast.
SHO and SIs among those sustained injuries in blast, Haider Ashraf said added that several vehicles damaged in the explosion.
Rescue teams shifted wounded to THQ Raiwind and Jinnah Hospital Lahore where some injured are told in critical condition.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif condemned the blast and ordered an immediate inquiry into the terror attack.
