Corruption rife in C&W Department Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi, March 18 (TNS): Massive corruption has been surfaced in Communications and Works (C&W)   Department Rawalpindi while allotting contracts.

The C&W administration has breached rules and regulations of Public Procurement Authority (PPRA) and allotted the contracts to their blue-eyed ones. A source on Anonymity condition told to TNS that during the last 10 years the administration has caused a billion losses to national tricky over approving second-rate progress work on contracts alleged connivance with the contractors. The source further said that the administration has also caused million loss to national exchequer over using the name of bogus employees.

The source said that the tenders announcing on  March 27   is a formality, the administration has tendered these projects to their blue-eyed ones without any documentation and tender and they have completed 50 percent progress work on the said projects. Source further said that the development work of   Punjab House, high courts and district courts have been already given illegally without any documentation and tender. The contractors using the substandard material in the development work after giving bribe to officials of C&W Department. The C&W Department officials have been converted to billionaire after taking the bribe from contractors.
