Maleeha pays tribute to Pakistani peacekeepers in UN

New York March 24 (TNS): Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi has paid a rich tribute to Pakistani men and women serving as UN peacekeepers saying “they keep our flag fly high”.

In her remarks at a reception she hosted to mark the Pakistan Day in New York, Lodhi said that Pakistan’s remarkable journey, since the Pakistan Resolution was adopted in Lahore in 1940, has been powered by the spirit and resilience of the Pakistani people.

Over a hundred ambassadors and diplomats and UN officials attended the reception. The Pakistan mission had also set up photo exhibition to project Pakistan’s history, culture and its contribution to the UN peacekeeping. The exhibition also highlighted Pakistani women’s contribution to the UN peacekeeping.
