LAHORE March 26 (TNS): A large number of lady health workers staged a sit-in outside Punjab Assembly on Monday over what they said non-payment of salaries.
The health workers alleged that they have not been paid for the last five months and their salaries have not been raised since 2012.
The lady health workers from different districts of Punjab also demanded that their service structure should also be streamlined enabling them to get annual raise in the budget. The protesting nurses, who had been staging the sit-in, said that their protest will continue until their demands were met.
Due to the sit-in, traffic flow was disrupted on Mall Road and adjoining areas.
