9th-grade student tortured by mayor’s guards

Hyderabad March 27 (TNS): A 9th-grade student was allegedly tortured by the police guards of the city mayor over playing cricket on the streets.

According to sources, Sharjeel along with other boys was playing the game on the road and cricket ball hit the window of Hyderabad Mayor Tayyab Hussain. All of a sudden, the mayor and his police guards showed up on the venue and chased the boys and got hold of Sharjeel and tortured him.

 

The police guards broke Sharjeel’s nose and he bled profusely before he was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The locals alleged that the only park in the area has been locked by the mayor and the children have no other option but to play on the streets. After the incident, the area residents took to the streets and shouted slogans against the city mayor and his guards.

The area residents demanded to register a case against the mayor and his police guards.
