Tank March 28 (TNS): Senior tribal journalist Shah Zaman Mehsood was kidnapped by unidentified persons from his Tank residence between the night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
Ismail Mehsood, the brother of Shaha Zaman Mehsood, told the media on Wednesday that five to six persons in civvies barged into their residence near Speen Masjid area in Tank at 1 am and took Zaman Mehsood with them after holding the family hostage at gunpoint.
According to Ismail, they could not resist the persons, as according to him, they were armed with pistols.
Earlier, unidentified persons in civvies had also raided the Mehsood Press at a posh area of Tank Cantt.
According to sources, the senior tribal journalist has been vocal in highlighting the excess being meted out to the tribal people and his kidnapping was aimed at gagging the few voices challenging the status quo and state narrative.
