Islamabad April 2 (TNS): Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani on Monday strongly condemned the brutal use of force by Indian forces in the held-Kashmir, resulting in the death of 20 innocent Kashmiris and injuries to over 200 civilians.

He said that India was carrying out brutal crackdowns and using the pellet guns against unarmed protesters including the youth and children in an attempt to further subjugate and repress the innocent Kashmiris.

This mindless killing, he said, reflects the inhuman face of the state-terrorism that India has been perpetrating against the innocent Kashmiris for decades.

The Senate chairman emphasized that such cowardly actions of the occupying forces only serve to fortify the resolve of the Kashmiri people.

“The brave and resilient people of the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir have demonstrated, again and again, that no amount of repression including incarcerations, torture and extrajudicial killings could deter them from pursuing the inalienable right to self-determination,” he said.

Sanjrani expressed his complete solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and urged the international community to take cognizance of the gross and systematic violations of human rights taking place in the held-Kashmir and use its influence to bring an end to the bloodshed.

He also urged the international community to play a role in finding a lasting solution to the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people
