Hyderabad April 6 (TNS):  Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan on Friday rejected the government’s new tax amnesty scheme, terming it a ploy to whiten looted money stashed in foreign banks and financial institutions.

Talking to the media in Hyderabad, he said that the scheme was nothing but an arrangement to save thieves and criminals.

Earlier in a tweeter, Khan said that the new amnesty scheme was a brazen attempt by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to save criminals. He questioned that why the prime minister offered the new amnesty scheme just 45 days prior to the end of government’s term and just two weeks before the budget? “This is a tax on honest people – a slap in the face of honest taxpayers,” he said in the tweet.

In Hyderabad, Khan lashed out at PPP Co-chairman Asif Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur calling them the ringleader of thieves in Sindh and corruption has permeated in every department in the province.

He said that Sindh was fed up with dynastic politics and it was ever ready to accept the change and the slogan of “Bhutto is alive” was no more relevant and people don’t subscribe to the slogan anymore and they want their problems were solved.

Aiming his guns at former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, he alleged that both the brothers destroyed state institutions and indulged in corruption. He alleged that Shahbaz Sharif has committed billions of rupees corruption in education and health budget over the years and the state of the affairs in the province was abysmal.

He also said that his party wants that the next general election was held on time under a transparent caretaker set up and his party will try its best to ensure that clean stopgap government is formed for holding the elections. He ruled out that his party will enter into any political alliance with Zardari or Nawaz.
