New York April 13 (TNS): Permanent Representative to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi said on Friday that terrorism has emerged as the most persistent threat to peace and security over the past two decades.
Speaking at an event of Counter Terrorism co-hosted by Pakistan, Norway and UN Office on Counter Terrorism Maleeha Lodhi said Pakistan has witnessed terrorism emerged and extended in the region as a consequence of conflict caused by a series of foreign interferences in our region but Pakistan has turned the tide.
The Ambassador to UN said we complement the use of force with a holistic National Counter Extremism Policy that includes political, economic, social and cultural elements.
