Commonwealth Games: Pakistan’s Inam Bags first Gold medal for Pakistan

Australia, April 14 (TNS): Pakistan’s freestyle wrestler Mohammad Inam Butt bags the first Gold Medal for the country in the Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast, Australia on Saturday.

Inam Butt thwarted the Nigerian Wrestler Melvin Bibo by 6-0 in the final of men’s 82 kg category of freestyle wrestling.

Inam Butt also bagged the Gold Medal in the 2010 Commonwealth games. The wrestler asked for a loan for Rs 1 million from the Government for preparations of the 2018 edition of Commonwealth Games.

The laurel winner assured the government that he will return with a Gold medal and if he fails to do so he will return the money.

This was the fifth medal for Pakistan in this year’s Commonwealth Games, the other four were Bronze medals.
