Gang of impersonators held in Sargodha

Sargodha April 14 (TNS): A 12-member gang impersonating themselves as army personnel was arrested in Sargodha on Saturday.

According to the police, the impersonators would blackmail people on the phone seeking extortion threatening them that their name was on the terrorists’ list.

The gang members would first visit people and houses posing as census team members and after collecting the data, they would call the people on their personal numbers demanding extortion.

The gang members would also collect funds from gullible people in the name of different schemes and national support funding schemes.

The police with the help of an intelligence agency arrested the gang members and shifted them to the police station for further investigation.
