Islamabad April 13 (TNS): In a landmark development, the Senate on Friday passed a bill envisaging extending the domain of the Supreme Court and the Peshawar High Court to the FATA.
The National Assembly has already approved the bill and now the way has been paved to take the jurisdiction of the regular courts to the tribal belt, ultimately leading to the merger of FATA with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

The Supreme Court and High Court (Extension of Jurisdiction to Fata) Bill 2017 was presented in the Upper House by the Opposition Leader in the Senate Sherry Rehman.
The bill was passed amid opposition by Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam and the PkhMAP lawmakers.
