No headway in probe into firing incident on judge’s house

Lahore April 16 (TNS): The Lahore police have registered an FIR against unidentified persons after two shells of bullets were found at the gate and window of the residence of Supreme Court judge, Justice Ijazul Ahsan.

The joint investigation team formed earlier could not determine if the firing had actually happened or some saboteurs had dropped the bullet shells to create panic and fear especially among the judges who have been hearing important cases under the newly invigorated judicial activism.

Police said that sections of terrorism and attempt to murder have been included in the FIR.

The FIR include an attempt to murder and terrorism sections.

Punjab Government spokesperson Malik Ahmad Khan said in a statement that Additional IG Muhammad Tahir will head the JIT, while DIG Investigation Sultan Chaudhry and representatives of the Intelligence, the Inter-Services Intelligence and the Intelligence Bureau.
