JIT dragging case unnecessarily, without proofs: Hussain Nawaz

Islamabad July 4 (TNS): Prime Minister’s younger son Hussain Nawaz on Tuesday said that the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was dragging the Panama Papers case unnecessarily despite having no evidence of corruption or money-laundering charges against the Sharif family.

“The JIT has no evidence to prove charges against us. They are dragging the case pointlessly. Such gratuitous probes lend credence to doubts and suspicions. The JIT has no proof of money-laundering against us. They are seeking for approvers to testify against us. But they will get nothing against us,” Hussain Nawaz said while talking to the media after appearing before the JIT for over five years.

He warned that the investigators will not be allowed to penalize the public mandate on frivolous and unfounded charges.

“It has been the old modus operandi to create doubts and turn approvers in such cases. But let it be clear, no one will be allowed to snatch the public mandate given the government. The concocted plane conspiracy case by the Musharraf regime is in front of everyone. Today, where is Musharraf and where we are. The people’s mandate will not be allowed to be snatched,” he said.
