Islamabad, April 24 (TNS): The spearhead of Pakistan’s bowling attack; Muhammad Amir was unable to travel with the squad on Tuesday as he faced procedural problems in acquiring the visa.
However, the visa has now been granted to the star and he will join up with the squad on Wednesday, in England.
Amir has always come under the limelight whenever he went on tour to England. The pacer also faced troubles when Pakistan toured England in the summer of 2016.
The 26-year-old was involved in the infamous spot-fixing scandal in 2010 and since then he has faced visa issues whenever he has travelled to the UK.
Pakistan Cricket Board Spokesperson told the media on Monday, “Amir could not travel with the team. There’s some procedural issue which I hope will be resolved by Wednesday”
Later PCB confirmed that the pacer had been granted Visa and will travel to England, one day after the Pakistan team departed.
Amir served a 5-year ban after the 2010 spot-fixing saga on the tour of England. The two infamous no-balls still haunt the star.
Pakistan team led by Sarfraz Ahmed will be Ireland’s first opponents in the loan test which will be played on May 11 in Dublin.
The Green-shirts will then face a stern two-test series against England and will finish off their UK tour against Scotland against whom they will play two T-20 Internationals.
Pakistan cricket team will play two warm-up games against Kent and Northampton. The warm game against Kent will commence on Saturday.
