Chairman Senate emphasizes to strengthen bilateral relations with Cuba

ISLAMABAD, Apr 25 (TNS): Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani has emphasized the need to further strengthen the existing bilateral relations between Pakistan and Cuba through enhancing parliamentary ties and cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.

He said this while talking to Gabriel Tiel Capote, Ambassador of Cuba in Pakistan on Wednesday in his chamber at Parliament House, said a press release issued here on Wednesday.

The Chairman Senate said that Pakistan placed its bilateral relations with Cuba at high esteem adding “We desire to further expand mutual collaboration in trade, education and other fields.”

He also underscored the need for enhanced Parliamentary linkages to bring people of the two sides more close and pave the way for multi-sectoral cooperation.

He said that Pakistan and Cuba had supported each other in times of need and excellent cooperation existed between the two at International forums.

The Senate Chairman expressed his well wishes to the people, government and Parliament of Cuba and hoped that both sides would strive for creating a level playing field for investment and explore avenues to give a boost to trade and commerce.

The Cuban envoy thanked the Chairman Senate for the warm welcome at the Parliament.  He agreed with the views of Chairman Senate for increasing trade and commercial ties for the bilateral benefit.
