All provinces, GB, AJK to have special economic zones under CPEC: Ahsan

 Islamabad, July 4 (TNS): Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal says nine spacial economic zones are being established in all provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and AJK under CPEC.

He was giving opening remarks at a high level ‘preparatory meeting for special economic zones’ under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor in Islamabad on Tuesday.

He said enemies of Pakistan want to prevent the development in the country.

The Minister regretted that rumors are being spread among the business community about economic zones.

He said the enemies of the country earlier tried to create rift between provinces and the federation on CPEC and now trying to sabotage the project. Ahsan Iqbal said that nine special economic zones will strengthen Pakistan’s economy.

The Minister for Planning said that the mega project is not a charity but an opportunity. He said that nine zones are offering value proposition for economic development and growth.

He said this is the best time to reap the benefits of the projects.

Ahsan Iqbal said that Pakistan should be able to show the best option to investors.

He said that creation of job is important for us because we need two million jobs every year.

The Planning Minister said that local investors should start joint ventures with Chinese investors to boost the economic growth of the country.
