Kashmiri leader condemns civilian killing

Srinagar April 30 (TNS): The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir salvation movement Zaffar Akber Bhat has strongly condemned the killing of a 21-year-old youth, Shakeeb Shabir from Shopian in the Shootout in Anantnag district of south Kashmir.

In a statement, Bhat said: “The bloodbath of Kashmiri youth continues unabated under one pretext or another while human rights organizations, civil society, peace activists and humanists in India and outside are observing a criminal silence on it.”Meanwhile, Bhat while paying tributes to slain  youth,  said, “Kashmiri youth are offering priceless sacrifices for a great cause and their sacrifices are the assets of the Kashmir struggle and it’s the collective responsibility of people and the leadership to safeguard these sacrifices.”

“People of Kashmir and the resistance leadership need to remain steadfast to ensure that the mission of martyrs is accomplished,” He said in a statement issued to press.

“Instead of resolving Kashmir issue as per the aspirations of people of Kashmir, India has adopted an oppressive and stubborn approach, muzzling genuine voices by use of military might chocking all space for peaceful resistance. As there is no end to continue bloodbath  and persecution being inflicted upon the common people especially the youth currently in the form  choking political space for peaceful activities, the youth feel frustrated.”

He said New Delhi can delay the resolution of Kashmir dispute by use of force and military might but cannot deny it. “The resilience and sacrifices of the people will one day make them see the dawn when their dream of achieving the right to self-determination which is the right of every nation and for which they have been yearning for past 70 years, will be realised,

Bhat sb “demanded the unconditional release of all Kashmiri prisoners and Youths lodged in various prisons   within the State and outside.
