Several vehicles worth Rs millions burnt to ashes in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi, April 30 (TNS): Several vehicles worth millions of rupees were gutted in an inferno that broke out at Boring Road, Dhok Matkial, Rawalpindi on Monday, Rescue officials said.

The fire erupted in the Car Parking at the noon which was controlled by fire engines after hectic efforts.

It is believed that wiring short in auto rickshaw caused the fire.

On the other hand traffic remained suspended at Adiala Roa Boring Road d as heavy contingent of police cordoned off the area.

The police officials stopped public and vehicular movement to avoid any mishap.

Rescue officials said that estimated loss in fire is Rs 10 million as 26 rickshaws, 3 Mehran, 1 Shehzor and Toyota Carola XLI burnt to ashes.
