Ahsan Iqbal visits New Islamabad Airport which all set to be operational from tomorrow

ISLAMABAD, April 30: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Monday visited the new international airport of federal capital which will start working from tomorrow and is expected to be inaugurated this week.

The minister visited various parts of the new airport and appreciated the facilities provided at the new state of the art airport.

The first two flights at the airport, one landing and the other taking off, will both be of the national flag carrier, Pakistan International Airlines.

“New Islamabad International Airport to be made operational from May 1, 2018,” wrote senior Information Ministry official Danyal Gilani on his verified Twitter account on Sunday afternoon.

In statement from the Civil Aviation Authority, the first flight, from Karachi will land at the airport at 11am. Thereafter, a flight will depart for Karachi at 12:30pm.

“First incoming flight is to be PK-300 while first departing flight would be PK-301,” Gilani added.

Complete operations at the new airport are thereafter expected to commence from Thursday, May 3.
