NAB Lahore arrest Deputy Secretary Housing Khalid Nadeem Bukhari

LAHORE, May 02 (TNS): National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lahore has been probing into the alleged financial embezzlements worth billions of rupees allegedly being committed in 56 Public Limited Companies’ projects.

According to NAB spokesman, in Saaf Pani Company’s Bhawalpur Project another major breakthrough has been brought forth by NAB Lahore Investigation officials, when Deputy Secretary (DS) Housing accused Khalid Nadeem Bukhari has been arrested on Wednesday, following the allegations of installing Filteration Plants on exorbitant rates.

Accused DS Khalid Nadeem Bukhari in connivance with other co-accused got installed 116 Water Filtration Plants in Bahawalpur Region, allegedly on approximately 40 percent exorbitant rates than the actual cost which caused a colossal loss worth Millions of rupees to National kitty.

NAB Lahore had earlier arrested four accused persons on 17th April (last month) who were involved in the same Scam, whereas, the investigations during their remand reveal malafide intentions of accused Khalid Nadeem being the representative from Housing Ministry, who intentionally got approved the contracts and receipts on forged and fabricated documents supposedly on an exorbitant rates estimating to 40 percent higher than the actual cost.

After obtaining substantial evidences against the said accused, NAB officials took custody of him and by producing before an Accountability Court, 12 days physical remands has been successfully acquired from above said court to keep the investigation continue.
