Narowal, May 6 (TNS): Pakistan’s Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal was injured in an attack during a Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz political rally in Narowal.
An unknown assailant opened fire on the PML-N leader on Sunday, from a distance of 15-20 yards, when he was heading towards his car, after the rally.
The attacker possessed a 30-bore pistol, with which he attacked the interior minister.
According to media reports, The interior minister took two bullets in the right-arm and in the lower abdominal area.
Later, the Police told that the name of the Assailant was Abid Hussain,21, who opened fire on the PML-N leader in Narowal.
State minister of interior Tallal Chaudhary, confirmed that the assaulter was arrested on the spot and Ahsan Iqbal is now out of danger.
Cheif Minister Shahbaz Sharif has contacted the interior minister on the phone to ask about his well being and has sent a helicopter to immediately transfer him to another hospital.
The cheif minister has immediately summoned report on the incident, from IG Punjab.
