Islamabad, May 6 (TNS): Harry Potter famed actress Emma Watson has tweeted and shown support to Deepika Singh Rajawat, the lawyer of the Kathua rape victim.

The British star wrote on Twitter that the lawyer is forced to reckon with and quoted “All power to Deepika Singh Rajawat.”

Rajwat is representing the case of the 8-year-old girl whose body was found in Rassana forest, Kathua, which is located in the Indian occupied Kashmir on January 17.

The minor was murdered a week after she went missing from the forest area.

The girl was reportedly kidnapped and was held inside a temple before being raped, tortured and then murdered.

Earlier the lawyer said that she had received various death threats and also threats to her family came when she took the case of the victim, which even included Jammu and Kashmir Bar Association members.

On this Supreme Court took action and ordered adequate security for Rajawat.

The Supreme Court had earlier ordered adequate security for Rajawat, after the lawyer said she had received death threats, including from members of the Jammu and Kashmir Bar Association, for representing the victim.

In 2014, Emma Watson was appointed the UN Women’s Goodwill ambassador.

She gave a widely hailed speech that year on gender equality to launch UN Women’s “He for She” campaign, a campaign which seeks to get men involved in the quest to achieve gender equality.
