KARACHI, May 07 (TNS): Karachi’s Hakeem Saeed Ground has become a battlefield between the workers of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) late this evening.
Both the parties announced that they would hold a rally at Hakim Said Ground on May 12.
Hundreds of workers from both the sides are engaged in ding-dong battles hurling stones, chairs and whatever comes in their hands, at each other.
According to reports, PPP and PTI supporters attacked each other camps at the ground and set ablaze camps and motorcycles.
However, the cause of the clash is yet to be ascertained and both the clashing factions are blaming each other for starting it with launching the assault.
PTI leader Ali Zaidi has blamed PPP workers for uprooting their camp and even resorting to the aerial firing.
PPP on the other side is leveling same allegations on PTI saying that the things have turned ugly after PTI workers destroyed their camp.
Scenes coming from the spot do give an alarming look as police is being seen nowhere and the workers are busy in clashing with total impunity.
