Manchester May 10, (TNS): Manchester City broke a 13-year longstanding record points in the Premier League, at the Etihad Stadium as Pep Guardiola’s men dismantled, Chris Hughton’s Brighton and Hove Albion by 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday.
The blues have now reached 97 points as the last game of the season approaches this Sunday, City manager Pep Guardiola feels that his side could become the first team ever to reach century points if they win against relegation-threatened Southampton at St.Mary’s.
Chelsea set the record of 95 points in the English Premier League in 2005, the first team to reach the mark under Jose Mourinho, a season in which they conceded just 15 goals.
