Islamabad May 10 (TNS): A delegation from General Electric (GE), United States, who have called on the Ministry of Railways in Islamabad on Thursday, have stated that 2 locomotives of 2000 horsepower may be shipped in December 2018, a press release reads.
In June 2017, an indenture was awarded to GE for the supply of 20 locomotives of 2000 horsepower, in Complete Build Unit (CBU) form. These locomotives will tentatively be shipped from the USA from March 2019 to May 2019 consequently. However, the meeting was also attended by Zubair Shafi Ghauri, Secretary Railway Board, Mazhar Ali Shah, DG Planning and Munawar Ali Shah, DG Technical.
