FBR reportedly summons Saba Qamar, on Tax Evasion

Lahore,May 10 (TNS): Pakistani actor Saba Qamar has been reportedly summoned by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), on basis of Tax evasion by the Lollywood star on May 16.

The “Hindi Medium” actress has reportedly been sent a notice by the FBR which states the glaring inconsistency in the figures of her filed income taxes.

Media reports, suggest that the filed income taxes and the assets shown by the actress do not meet her lifestyle, as her income taxes filed for year 2014-15 are undergoing the audit process.

The actor has been reportedly asked to show her assets details and also the foreign tours on which she has travelled.

Saba Qamar’s filed income taxes of two years, 2015-16 and 2016-2017 will also be audited and her assets details will now undergo further investigations, According to Media reports.

In September 2017 the FBR through investigations had found Qamar guilty of tax evasion and it also stated that the actress had evaded around Rs 3.4million of taxes.

Saba Qamar, however, dismissed reports, of receiving any notice from the FBR.

“I have not received any notice and I am only hearing of it from you,” The actor further said, “This happens every year and I am used to it by now.”

Further, It was reported that the board had sealed the actor’s house, when she did not respond to the FBR notices.

Qamar had denied these reports as well and said, “My house has not been sealed. I’m a tax filer. It’s very disappointing that channels are circulating such news without finding out the truth.”
