KARACHI May 10 (TNS): A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal committee has reportedly been called for May 16 to discuss the sighting of the crescent for Ramazan.
According to reports, committee chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman will chair the meeting, while the meetings of Zonal/District Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will be held the same day at their respective headquarters at the same time.
The chairman central committee Mufti Rehman after collecting the evidences from across the country will make the announcement of the sighting of the Ramazan moon.
The Met office has said Ramazan’s new moon will be born on May 15 at 4:49 pm and the age of the new moon will be 26 hours and 45 minutes at the time of the sighting.
The moon will be visible for 61 minutes after sunset on May 16, it added.
