CM Murad Ali Shah announces Sindh budget 2018 in provincial assembly

Karachi, May 10 (TNS): Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah on Thursday announced the budget of more than Rs 11.44 trillion for Sindh province monetary year 2018-19.
Shah announced that the finance bill would not be presented in the budget by the Sindh government this year and also announced that the next new elected assembly will present the budget for 9 months.
The chief minister said, “In the current financial year we will complete 714 schemes including the last year the provincial government led by PPP had accomplished a record number of schemes”.
Murad Ali Shah claimed that a vast development agenda and program had been successfully achieved this year adding that “Terrorism had destroyed our resources and energies but now it has been eliminated.”
“This would be the first time that Sindh will cross a mark of 200 billion rupees spent on development, Last year the 111 billion was expended on development sector, he added.
CM Sindh said it would be a first that the mark of 200 billion rupees would be crossed.

“Only last year, 111 billion rupees were expended on development”.
He also confirmed that receipts from Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) were not received by the provincial government so far.

“We have tried our best to resolve the problems of people in Sindh,” he said.
CM Murad further added that it is a proud moment for him that his party is presenting the sixth annual provincial budget.
The budget has also proposed the creation of 46000 new jobs, which also includes an increase in pension of government employees and a further 10% increase in their salaries.
