Lahore, May 18 (TNS): Veteran Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez was issued show cause notice by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday after his “ill-conceived” remarks on the International Cricket Council over their dealings with suspect bowling actions.
The 37-year-old was reported for the third over his bowling action and cleared the biomechanical test proposed by the ICC successfully. Recently he was reported in the series against Sri Lanka last year in October.
He stated in a British media outlet that, he could not understand the perimeters of the ICC, bowlers who have 25 to 30 degree bends in their action are not reported, whereas his bowling action has been reported time and time again, which shows a mere 16-degree bend.
ICC has given bowlers a margin of 15 degrees according to the rules, on which Hafeez has questioned the procedure of the ICC regarding bowling action.
The interview has now landed Hafeez in hot water and he has to respond to PCB’s show-cause notice within 14 days.
