KOHAT, May 19 (TNS): In a crackdown, police has apprehended 48 suspects including four proclaimed offenders (POs) from various areas of the city. According to police, the crackdown was started under the directives of District Police Officer, Abbas Majeed Marwat.
Police also recovered three Kalashnikovs, two rifles, three shotguns, eight pistols, five Kilogram hashish and five bottles of liquor from the possession of the arrested accused. As part of enhancing security measures during ramadan, the city has been divided into four sectors and special contingents of police have been deployed on worship places and markets.
Strict checking has been started on entry and exit points of the city. Women police has also been deputed for the safety of women at markets during rush hours. Police is also in close contact with local liaison committee to enhance security measures in the holy month of Ramadan.
